At the Shows![]() The Lawrence Medal (97/98) ![]() The Tudor Rose Award (2002) You'll have to excuse us - we're going to show off a bit! During the 13 years we have been exhibiting, as well as the occasional Gold Medal, we are proud to have been awarded two major honours for our displays. In the 1997 - 1998 season we were awarded the Lawrence Medal (shown right) for the best exhibit to be shown at a Royal Horticultural Society Show over the whole year. In 2002 we were awarded the prestigious Tudor Rose Award at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show for ‘Best in Show’. The exhibit was a Scientific and Educational display of Bamboos, Hardy in the British Isles showing over 150 species and cultivars from our collection. As well as these we have collected the following, which includes gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show in 1996, 2000, 2003, 2004 and now 2005. For the 1997 - 1998 season we were honoured to have been awarded the Lawrence Medal by the Royal Horticultural Society for the best exhibit for that season. The business has developed so is mainly mail order, garden design and nursery visiors, so we now only do Hampton Court Flower Show and the occasional plant fair. Exhibiting mainly bamboos and grasses in a very relaxed and tranquill setting ( and always with our faithful "frog and newt" who have not missed a show since they joined us ). Most of our displays are of a ‘Garden Setting’ in which we try to provide ideas on plant association, planting themes, also incorporating the use of simple hard landscaping materials. So - whilst our passion is for bamboo we also stock a wide range of grasses, herbacious and woody plants - so whatever your taste you'll find the plants to suit your individual taste and requirements. Exhibitions enable a wider section of the public to see the specimen bamboos, we hope to be able to carry on doing them for a few more years. Gold Medals We started exhibiting for the Royal Horticultural Society in March ‘92 and our Medal tally now comprises of:
