Our range of hardy Ornamental Grasses are all tried and tested as the most versatile and rewarding for use in gardens and the landscape. There is nothing finicky listed here, all are long lived, low maintenance and quick to develop. An annual pruning of the taller Grasses late in winter and a light trimming of some of the older leaves on the lower Grasses is all that is required.
There are some bold foliage colours from reds, blues and golds, with many different variegations; the flowers are equally as varied, many with their heads still catching the low light of the winter months. Most of the taller Grasses are herbaceous in nature but many like the Miscanthus still keep their framework to add great effect in the winter garden. Many of the lower Grasses, Sedges, Rushes and Wood Millets remain evergreen during the winter, providing low, colourful carpets below taller plants.
There is a Grass within our listing suitable for almost any situation, sun, shade, wet, dry, exposed and also those suited to growing in containers.
Many of the grasses will be cut back before dispatch during the winter months, particularly the taller ones, so the heights given are the height the plant will be at their optimum growth height in average conditions.
