Abelia
Abelia x grandiflora 'Kaleidoscope'
A new ornamental, variegated compact shrub. Changes colour through the seasons. Bright yellow and green variegation in spring, darkening to green with a tinge of pink in summer. Bright red stems. White bell - shaped flowers burst from pink buds in late summer. This plant has Plant Breeders rights on it. Grows to 0.5 - 0.75m high, but can be kept shorted if pruned harder each winter. 

Best in full sun or part shade. Plant in moist, well drained - soil even in exposed coastal positions.

'Vine Maple'. Native to western North America. Multi - stemmed large shrub with tiered almost arching habit. Often found near water. Wine red flowers in spring with reddish new growth. Yellow, orange, red and green in autumn when sited in the sun. Grows up to 7m high so ideal for smaller gardens.

'Indian Horse Chestnut'. Dome shaped deciduous tree which grows to 30m x 12m in time. White hermaphrodite flowers are held upright in neat pyramids in summer. Shiny brown seeds produced in autumn, which are good for flour production.

'Bottlebrush Buckeye'. Rare. Deciduous shrub with Chestnut - like leaves on upright , irregular but spreading branches. 'Barberry'. Deep red - purple foliage, with green undertones turns bright red in autumn. Red new growth. Ideal for a prickly hedge. Yellow flowers in spring.
