This will be suitable for medium to large gardens. The plants will be more vigorous than the Fargesia's and will grow faster upwards and sideways so you will be able to space them out a bit more. If the height is important to you but are worried about the roots spreading put a root barrier down two sides, front and back of the bamboo to keep the roots growing in line.
