'Barberry'. New, dwarf shrub with orange tinted new growth, turning to red all summer. Columnar in habit and similar, but smaller in habit to its parent plant 'Helmond Pillar' turning deep purple with splashes of fiery orange and red. Yellow flowers in early summer followed by red berries. Plant Breeders Rights. Grows to 1.25m X 0.5m in 10 years. Prune hard in the early years, so ideal for hedging.

'Barberry'. Deep red - purple foliage, with green undertones turns bright red in autumn. Red new growth. Ideal for a prickly hedge. Yellow flowers in spring. This is a cross between B. thunbergii and B. vulgaris making it vigorous and will reach full height quickly. Masses of cascading clusters of red berries light the tree up in autumn.
