Abelia
Abelia x grandiflora 'Kaleidoscope'
A new ornamental, variegated compact shrub. Changes colour through the seasons. Bright yellow and green variegation in spring, darkening to green with a tinge of pink in summer. Bright red stems. White bell - shaped flowers burst from pink buds in late summer. This plant has Plant Breeders rights on it. Grows to 0.5 - 0.75m high, but can be kept shorted if pruned harder each winter. 

Best in full sun or part shade. Plant in moist, well drained - soil even in exposed coastal positions.

'June Berry'. Upright, small and slender deciduous tree or shrub. White flowers in April. Red, orange and yellow autumn colours and edible berries. Ideal as a foil in any border, small garden, container or specimen.

'Killarney Strawberry Tree'. Small tree with deep brown, shredding bark. White flowers and red Strawberry - like fruits. Happy in coastal areas and very lime tolerant. Tough. Will grow to 5m if left unpruned.

Artemisia 'Powis Castle'
'Wormwort'. Excellent foliage plant, fragrant soft grey foliage, soft to touch. Evergreen compact sub - shrub. Small yellow flowers in August. Grows to 1m x 1m but keep trimmed to desired size. Good for dry soils. Ideal for a low hedge, as responds well to pruning. Was given an RHS Award of Garden Merit. 

Best in sun or semi - shade, in alkaline to neutral, dry soil.

A beautiful medium sized 'Birch' from western China, with matt - green leaves. Very attractive coppery -red peeling bark revels creamy - pink layers underneath. Excellent form.

'Silver Birch' with beautiful clean white bark. Deciduous tree with upright branches forming an oval to conical crown of glossy green leaves. One of the best forms, sturdy and graceful.  Bark peels to reveal orange tints on the underside. Yellow flowers and conspicuous catkins in spring. Brown fruits in summer. Golden autumn tints. Evergreen mounds of soft, hairy silver - grey foliage with bright yellow flowers June and July. This is a member of the daisy family. Tough and easy. Drought resistant. Will grow to about 1m high, making excellent ground cover.  Best if trimmed regularly. Given an RHS Award of Garden Merit.

'Bottlebrush'. Tender shrub, native to Australia and Tasmania that requires a sheltered garden, wall, or overwintered in a greenhouse. Dark - red, bottlebrush - like flowers in mid - spring. Grows up to 2.5m depending on the situation. Best in full sun or semi - shade. Good for container growing. Much loved by butterflies and birds. Prune after flowering every spring to keep compact.

'Hazel'. Vigorous, upright habit with very early cobs with large almond cones. The edible nuts are used in desserts and confectionary.
